Women Supporting Women: our day at the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale

As a female-founded brand, supporting women and girls is something very close to our hearts. So we were incredibly proud to take part in this year’s #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale in support of Women for Women International.

Held at Selfridges London, the event brought together an amazing group of brands, designers, volunteers and shoppers to raise vital funds for women and girls affected by war.

It was a joyful day of shopping and community, with every purchase helping to support survivors of war rebuild their lives.

What is the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale?

Described by Vogue as the “chicest car boot sale ever”, #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale brings together luxury brands, designers and fashion and beauty insiders to raise money for this incredible cause. Being part of it, we can confirm it really is something special!

Hosted in the Selfridges car park, shoppers could pick up new, past-season, vintage and pre-loved pieces - all sold at exceptional prices for an incredible cause. The event was hosted by Alex Eagle, creative director, fashion designer and Ambassador for Women for Women International.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale, and raised over £430,000. This brings the total raised by the event to over £2.6 million!

Who are Women for Women International?

Women for Women International supports survivors of war in some of the world’s most dangerous places.

Women affected by war and conflict often face displacement, poverty, violence and bereavement, as well as practical and physical challenges on a day to day basis. Women for Women International works with marginalised women directly affected by conflict, helping them rebuild their lives through gaining skills, knowledge and confidence.

Through their programmes, the charity helps women create safer and more stable futures for themselves and their families. Helping them build support networks, the impact reaches beyond the individual. These women pass knowledge and opportunities onto their family and communities, creating real and lasting change.

Being part of something amazing

Being part of the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale felt incredibly special.

Everyone was there for a brilliant cause, and it was a lot of fun too. We love taking any opportunity to show off our beautiful jewels in person, and we really enjoyed helping our shoppers choose!

(And did we pick up some bargains of our own? You bet!)

The idea of somen supporting women is so connected to who we are as a brand. To play a small part in helping women rebuild their lives, after such unimaginable hardship, means so much.
