What length bracelet should I buy?

A bracelet should be secure enough that it won’t slip off, but loose enough to move with you. Some people prefer a tighter fit while others prefer a bit more give, but you never want to feel like you’re going to lose either your bracelet or your circulation…!

If you love a loaded charm bracelet, we recommend a slightly looser fit. You’ll want a bit of extra breathing room so you can add charms over time without them rubbing tightly against your wrist. A good rule of thumb? You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the bracelet and your skin.

Many of our chain bracelets can be adjusted between a couple of lengths – you’ll find all this info in the product descriptions. Some chains, and our bangles, are a fixed size, so it’s definitely worth double-checking that measurement is going to work for you.

How do I get the right fit for my watch?

Our watches are a little different. You can measure for a watch the same way you do a bracelet (see below), laying a strip of string, paper or ribbon around your wrist at the place you'd like your watch to fit.

The fit you choose is personal, but again we'd advise that you can put two fingers between the band and your skin for comfort.

As standard, our watches ship with a 160mm length strap, but come with adjustable links (including in the price) to extend to 210mm.

Strap adjusting is complimentary, so if you'd like your strap making smaller or larger than 160mm, message our customer service team on hello@carrieelizabeth.co.uk and they'll get that sorted for you!

How can I measure for a bracelet or watch?

Take a piece of string (even a shoelace will do!) and wrap it around your wrist exactly how you’d like the piece to sit.

Lay that string flat against a ruler to get your measurement. You can also measure a piece you already own and love wearing.

Our bangles and cuffs are measured with a diameter. Lay out your piece of string in the shape of the bangle and measure the distance from one side to the other. If the bangle doesn’t have a gap, you should make sure the string fits around your hand, to ensure you can get it on!

Remember - there is no one ‘right’ way to wear your jewellery. If it feels comfortable, secure and stylish to you, that’s your perfect fit. We provide the measurements in our Product Details section to guide you, and you can always reach out if you have questions about a specific piece.

Drop us a note at hello@carrieelizabeth.co.uk and we’ll help you measure up!
