Your perfect fit: necklace sizing & length guide

We deliberately design our necklaces in a wide variety of lengths so you can find a piece that suits. When you explore our necklace collection, you’ll find everything from 16inch necklaces that sit at the base of the neck or collar-bone to stomach-grazing 36-inch chains!

Here’s a visual guide to how you can expect necklaces of different lengths to fit.

Note this is just a guide - how a necklace fits depends on both the chain length and your neck; everyone’s bodies are different. A chain with a pendant will also sit very slightly lower than a chain worn solo.

Will this necklace fit me?

We always show our necklaces on humans, so you can get a rough idea of how a necklace sits - if your body type is smaller or larger than our model the chain will sit a little higher or lower.

What length necklace should I buy?

Picking the right length necklace is as much about your style as your body.

Think about the necklines you usually wear - do you want your chain to sit above or below? A 16inch chain is great for V-necks or a button down, while you might prefer an 18inch (our most popular length) to sit below a round neck. A 20inch or longer looks great over a rollneck or with a plunging neckline.

We’re big fans of the layered look… but you knew that already. Getting the perfect neckstack is all about length; choose two or more different lengths of chain so each one gets to shine.

A tip to avoid tangling is to vary the weight and style of the chain you use. Two fine chains are much more likely to twist together than a fine and a medium chain. Put your heaviest necklace on last - the weight will help keep your stack secure and stop some of the movement that causes tangling.
