Fearne Cotton x Carrie Elizabeth Launch Event

Fearne Cotton x Carrie Elizabeth Launch Event

It was a night of firsts….the first time Notonthehighstreet had collaborated with someone as high profile as Fearne, the first time Fearne Cotton had designed a jewellery collection and the first big celebrity collaboration for Carrie Elizabeth! A momentous occasion that definitely called for a very special celebration!

Both Carrie and Fearne were looking gorgeous in green, highlighted by the twinkling jewels of their stunning new collection and of course their beaming smiles at delivering such a beautiful  collaboration that meant so much to them both.

Notonthehighstreet hosted this exciting event, held in the beautifully light and inviting conservatory area of the My Chelsea Hotel, London. As befits a business known for their creativity and special personal touches, the event space looked absolutely stunning!  Beautiful references to the collaboration were displayed around the room including striking photoshoot imagery and gorgeous swathes of printed fabric hanging from the ceiling, to capture the stunning natural stones used throughout the collection.

The focal point of the room was the magnificent jewellery display area which perfectly captured the attention of every Magpie in the room (…and there were many of us there!!). Each piece was laid out beautifully in vintage inspired gold jewellery boxes and trays for guests to see and touch…and of course try on! Notonthehighstreet wonderfuly described the deeper meanings behind each piece and stone, a feature that was so intrinsic to the designs and so important to both Fearne & Carrie.

In the true spirit of collaboration, Notonthehighstreet invited six of their other Small Business Partners to join the event and show off their amazing product. The deeper meaning behind the collaboration and the core values of Fearne’s Happy Place brand were in evidence across all product that was shared with guests at the event.

Guests were treated to extraordinary colour changing Gin from The Old Curiosity. The beautifully coloured Gin was available in a variety of nature inspired flavours and was served in tall glasses each with an embroidered flag denoting a core message of Fearne’s brand, “Strength”, “Joy”, “Passion”, “Gratitude”, “Hope” and “Eternity”. Who could collect all of the flags and try each flavour and colour of gin was definitely a question on many guest’s lips!

Crafting was also celebrated at the event with Lucy McGrath from Marmon Paperie who had a marbling station where she produced some of the beautiful gift wrapping used to treat guests! We also had the opportunity to make our own gorgeous stitchcraft with Lucy Freeman Design and Annie Dornan-Smith Design who helped us to bring the deeper meanings of the collaboration, such as “It’s Ok to feel lost” to life through stitchwork.

The work of amazing artisans The Portland Co and Alex Ebden x MijMoj were on display at the event. The Portland Co had exclusively made a paper cut version of our beautiful “I am Enough” Aztec Coin (as displayed in the leading image of Fearne & Carrie). Alex Ebden x MijMoj collaborated to produce a stunning jewellery trinket tray, the perfect place to store your new Fearne Cotton x Carrie Elizabeth treasures!

Guests were also treated to a perfect little reminder of the deeper messages throughout the collection from Kutuu. Each guest was able to choose their own super cute coin embossed with a special message from the collection. The coin was then safely tucked within a little keyring for safe keeping!

in the detail

Guests were treated to a Q&A session with both Fearne & Carrie (and many followers would have also seen this on our live instagram feed!). Carrie and Fearne spoke about what an amazing experience the collaboration had been for both of them with Carrie commenting that the whole process had been “absolutely incredible!”.  It had “created this smile and that smile hasn’t dropped the whole time”!

Question and Answer Panel

Both women’s enthusiasm for the product was clearly evident with them agreeing that they definitely had themselves in mind when they were designing! Fearne said it was so important to think “What do I want? What do I like?” when designing as that authenticity, love, passion and enthusiasm would then shine through into the final product.

When asked about their favourite pieces in the collection and who they would choose to gift both women were in total agreement. Both Carrie and Fearne chose the “It’s Ok to feel lost” locket as the perfect piece to gift someone special in their family. Fearne believes that the message behind the locket “will resonate with a lot of people”. Many of us feel a little bit wobbly and lost from time to time and it is so important to remind ourselves that that is ok, its totally normal and we are not alone.

Fearne picking out jewellery

Fearne also picked out the Opal & Diamond ring as her own “self indulgent” choice, as it is cleverly inspired by the unique design of her very own engagement ring, featuring powerful opal and diamond stones which symbolise strength, passion and eternity.

Fearne gave us an insight into her “Happy Place” brand and what it is all about. It’s about a “connection, being part of a community, less alone in what you’re going through”. It is so important to Fearne that every project she is involved in continues to support this message. She knows that a piece of jewellery cannot change the world but she does believe that it is so important to have small, physical reminders that might just help us along the way. When we have those little doubts and worries that niggle away inside of us we can hold on tight, look at this piece and feel ok.

Carrie told us about how gemstones are so important to the Carrie Elizabeth brand. The deeper meanings of her favourite stones, Moonstone and Labradorite, worked in perfect harmony with Fearne’s own brand. Stones of empowerment, both Moonstone and Labradorite are extremely important for women. Moonstone signals new beginnings and fertility and Labradorite is a stone of transformation, that cleanses any negativity energy.
